Here is some encouraging news, courtesy of IDG and the folks at CIO.com. A recent study found that consumers in developing countries, and China in particular, are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly consumer electronics, an attitude that was far less prevalent in the United States (98% in China vs. only 43% in the US)

This is an important shift, and one that will hopefully be echoed by businesses in those markets. While traditional models of environmental impact usually attribute more harm per person to developed countries like Canada and the US, the population growth, and rapidly increasing affluence in developing countries like China and India mean that they have equal or greater overall environmental impact.
