Heading up an IT security company with only one year of experience under its belt, Adam Tanner has a lot to look forward to from NexxGeneration Security Solutions Inc., the company he founded in Oakville, Ont. In that short time, NexxGeneration made a big enough of an impression to have caught the eye of Kevin Krempulec, vice president of sales and head of Kaspersky Labs’ new Canadian operations..
“Everything goes through channel partners and we work closely with them on end-user opportunities,” Krempulec said. “One of the things we look for are unique partners…. NexxGeneration has really put together a model that provides significant added value for all parties involved.”
Krempulec said he values NexxGeneration’s specialization in the security space and its deep understanding of the different aspects of security – how to implement good policies and how to put the right people and technology in place.
“Right off the bat, (NexxGeneration) has a different level of conversation with the client because they understand security from gateway all the way to the desktop,” Krempulec said. “But what has made this relationship even more unique is we have focused on a specific (healthcare) vertical.”
By concentrating their efforts on one defined market, Kaspersky and NexxGeneration found success in Southern Ontario’s healthcare market. “NexxGeneration has played a paramount role in going in there as an outside consultant, talking to the hospitals, figuring out, ‘What are the applications you guys use internally that are very specific to hospitals?’” Krempulec said. “(They) understand all the uniqueness that’s in a hospital environment and how that can be woven together. And the customer, at the end of it, is going to be coming out of there with a real solid security structure.”
