NEW YORKSAP clearly sees a top priority in building a sustainability story for its end user customers, but it doesn’t see itself tackling the green issue alone.

Dr. Peter Graf, the software vendor’s chief sustainability officer, said he sees the issue as one that’s best addressed by both the company itself and its channel partners.

Stephen Stokes, vice president for business and climate change at Boston, MA-based AMR Research, said that when asked about how to best tackle the problem of measuring, reducing and managing organizational carbon footprint, a majority of organizations saw the challenge as a 50/50 mix of software and services, meaning there’s opportunity for solution providers to build a business practice around helping customers settle on their metrics and deliver against goals.

CRN Canada sat down with Graf in this video interview to discuss the nature of the sustainability opportunity for channel partners, how solution providers can build a practice around the growing business, and why it’s important for partners working in the space to ‘walk the walk’ before the start to sell the products.
