Interesting read here

on how Nortel was allegedly hacked for 10 years prior to its collapse. Rootkits reported everything on executives computers to IP addresses in China.
What is fascinating -- and disturbing -- is how the execs running the show didn't want to know their PCs were compromised by a group with Chinese IP addresses.
It's almost as if somebody at the top of Nortel was in on it, and deliberately stalled investigators, then withdrew investigators' resources, and finally fired the lead investigator.
Another interesting thing is the source of publicity. Not long ago the NP ran several articles about how Nortel execs were innocent of fraud, and the trial was a sham to placate shareholders who lost loadsadough.
Now the same pub is implying the execs were either criminally negligent or complicit with industrial espionage.
It's not yet clear, and we likely will never know.
