Periscope 720

An event Exclusively for Senior IT Executives

IT in Canada Chief Content Officer Michael O'Neil is taking us for a ride above the daily ebb and flow of IT. Armed with thousands of surveys (and a fine cartoon archive), he takes us twice around the industry, to look at what's happening in IT today, and what these trends will mean to jobs and business tomorrow.

CIO Insight Exchange, brings to you the most vital opportunity of the year.

How will spending change - which industries and product areas will grow fastest, or start to fall behind - and what trends will make 2011 look different from 2010?

You are invited to participate in an energetic and informative discussion of these issues with leading experts and peers, brought to you by IT in Canada and IT Market Dynamics. You’ll hear new trends for creating and shaping a more agile and innovative IT organization. This CIO Insight Exchange Symposium, held exclusively for the benefit of IT leaders, will examine trends, spends and their impact on IT management strategies.

About the Forecast Report:

Forecasts are used to help IT executives to calibrate budgets, to help IT suppliers to build plans and set quotas, and to help CFOs and other senior managers to understand how their allocations compare with industry peers and competitors. They can also provide fascinating insights into an industry, reinforcing some perceptions while challenging other assumptions. This year’s IT Market Dynamics (ITMD) forecast, which filters input from 1038 surveys (including nearly 500 responses from IT managers who also answered our 2010 forecast survey) through our unique demand-side forecast model and a review process involving CIOs representing different industries, regions, and e-sizes, provides intriguing insights into the path that Canadian IT will follow in 2011. In his presentation, ITMD CEO Michael O'Neil will also highlight a few of the questions raised by this year's numbers, and turn the spotlight on nine trends that will impact the planning process across our industry.

The CIO Insight Exchange, will explore trends, spends and other key issues affecting Canadian IT markets today through plenary sessions:

·     Cloud computing

·     Security, Privacy, Continuity and Compliance

·     Sustainability

·     Mobility

Each session will be comprised of a brief presentation of subject-specific research, followed by a panel discussion/Q&A including different points of view,  followed by a workshop exercise. In the workshop, attendees will work in teams, using tools developed by IT in Canada's research arm, IT Market Dynamics, to develop real-world strategies for addressing essential elements of the key topic. These tools will be available to attendees for use after the event, so that they can apply the "lessons learned" at the session to building strategies within their own organizations.
